Our provisions support students with special educational needs, with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health challenges. Your role will support the wider administration team, teaching staff and SLT to provide administrative, clerical, financial and organisational services, under the management and guidance of the office manager, taking a proactive role in relation to its day to day functioning.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing administrative support to senior leaders and teaching staff
- Managing reception duties, including welcoming visitors
- Handling enquiries through telephone, email and social media
- Maintaining accurate pupil records and data systems
- Supporting attendance, admissions, and safeguarding procedures
- Liaising with parents, staff, and external agencies
- Handling correspondence, filing, and general office duties
- Using school management systems
- Setting up teams links for meetings and online tuition
- Liaising and arranging transport for pupils
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft Office
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
- A flexible and positive approach to work
Person Specification:
- Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent. Higher education qualifications in relevant fields are desirable.
- Previous experience working within an educational setting is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to use initiative, handle varied situations, and solve administrative issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Proficiency in appropriate IT tools and technology used for educational purposes.
- Meticulous accuracy in record-keeping and tasks.
